This is a giclee print of an original watercolor painting of a Northern Saw-Whet Owl owl (Aegolius acadicus).  It's characterized as a tiny owl with a catlike face.  It is one of the most common owls in forests across northern North America.  The Saw-Whet Owl's name comes from the call it makes when it's alarmed, resembling the sound of a whetstone sharpening a saw.
